REST IS MORE.

and so i took a break. 

i think you can tell. 

a physical one, a mental one and a cyber one. 

just a week shy from my return from the land of smiles - oh how i love that pretty place! i am getting ready to pack my bags again. 

h&m, here i come. 

the last i looked, i only have 80plus MB left in my phone. 

boo. i still remember my friend telling me that i would never use up the memory of my trusty phone. 

i can give you 101 reasons why i love my phone and 1 reason why i don't.

it's a triple whammy for me, because it's also my daddy's special day. 

oh, did i mention that it is also a sunday and happy church day?

WAVES MAKE YOU STRONGER.

i went for a swim like i usually do every monday.

it's a pretty good rest thing for me.

from afar, i saw a bigger guy coming alongside me in the opposite direction. 

and oh i saw those waves coming.

as they drew closer to me, those waves, i began to pull my strokes with greater force, quicken my momentum and kick a little harder to ensure that i kept on track and oh, didn't swallow any water. 

and that's when it came to me. 

how waves make you stronger. 

you might struggle a little to keep your balance, perhaps push yourself a little harder, or maybe even put in a little more to keep yourself on course.

but they most certainly won't kill you. 

oh but when they pass, you'll realize that you've just gotten a little bit tougher.

my friend stops by a shop to buy preserved fruit and i got bored waiting. 

i was busy fidgeting about until their names caught my eye. 

some really interesting names, i must say.

we were talking after work and a colleague asked where we'd like our weddings to be. 

one said church and another said hotel. 

i said "beach" in a heartbeat.

i was talking to someone of the phone yesterday and it hit me.

A WALK IN THE PARK

i did it. 

i took time out to waste a little time today and i took a walk in the park.

also managed to make time for friends at a wake today and found out that their gramps was from the same church as my first. there's a service on tonight and i don't know if they will meet him tonight. 

i don't really know if i want them to. 

this world is way too small. 

4 more hours till my sis comes back with a HUGE stash of h&m, or so i heard. 

it's been an awesome sat so far.

NAIL ART -

i went for my very first mani/pedicure today. 

it was a pretty enlightening experience i would say. 

being waited on and pampered isn't something you get used to in a moment or even a day, truly. 

or at least i wouldn't. 

i am pretty much hands on and am used to doing these things myself. 

but Your favor was upon me and the owner of the shop did my nails for me. 

maybe i just really needed to sit still for a few hours and do nothing. 

yeah. just maybe.

IN LIFE & DEATH.

and so in 7 days i've encountered 2 births and 1 death and connected with good friends. 

tragedies & celebrations, are poles apart - yet somehow draw people closer together.

and so in 7 hours i've encountered 2 lives before death was allowed to set in. 

i was reminded about why i am doing what i was doing. 

an email from a friend telling me how he envied what i was doing. because the work of my hands impacts lives. a text from a friend said the same thing the night before. 

it's funny/amazing how Daddy God always knows when i'm teetering over the edge. 

how he always sends something, someone to reach out and pull me back before i fall.

i rest easy, knowing that You're watching over me.

DIM SUM GIRLIES -

and so we finished our tarts in orchard & decided to head elsewhere. 

happy early dim sum with the girls and we prayed for the fats to go to my good friend KL because he is super nice and won't mind :) and can definitely use some of it. well, he already knows about this because i've already told him. he just laughed it off. 

i seldom do things like that & usually keep it short & sharp. honestly :) 

love the otah & scallop siew mai. the char siew rolls too.

THE FRIENDS STAND -

another one of my favorite days cabbing to my favorite place. 

church. 

i passed a marathon and something caught my eye. 

not the banners. not the barricades. not the fancy brocade of a vest the police were wearing. 

oh, it was what i'd affectionately call: the friends stand. 

all along the way, the long treacherous route were clusters of people. 

holding clappers and cheering the runners on. 

oh wow, i thought. it was only 10 mins shy of 730am and they looked like the dawn of day. 

waving enthusiastically, they clapped, cheered, whistled, reassured, encouraged. 

all for one motive - so that the participants will never give up. 

i call them the friends stand for one reason. 

they remind me of the friends i have. 

love that. 

there are times i stumble and fall, but they are there to pick me up. to see that i press on. 

there are times a fleeting thought throws me off guard and when i contemplate throwing in the towel, they remind me the reason why i'm doing what i'm doing.

and i couldn't ask for more. 

not just them but i see Jesus cheering me on, in the stands. 

the firm, strong yet tender look in His eyes that tells me everything's gonna be alright. 

i am super blessed because of my Savior's love for me. the love of my family & friends.

it is unbelievably the last day of the eleventh month. 

time has passed by quickly. too quickly. 

christmas carols are in the air yet again.

new days = new beginnings. 

yet sometimes, for a moment, just a moment - you wish time would stand still.

i'm having sad/exciting/happy/mixed feelings abt our last christmas party together as a team. 

it is going to be so GLORIOUS.

and the best that has ever been.
